How Does It Work?

Conjoint Therapy, sometimes called Co-therapy, can be defined as two or more therapists working collaboratively with the same couple. When we refer to Conjoint therapy, we are explicitly referring  to the following model:

Each person in the couple meets with Steve or Mary every two weeks.

Each couple meets with BOTH Steve and Mary on alternative weeks.

Some high conflict or acutely distressed couples will meet both individually and as a couple weekly.

The division into therapeutic dyads is not necessarily gender specific but is based on a clinical assessment of a each client.

This is an intensive model, and therapy progress is assessed in four month intervals
